Last ones for now until I figure out how technology works. I’ll probably upload the rest to Facebook to keep dash spam to a minimum, so if you attended and wanna check ‘em out, go ahead and add me from the event page.

Alright so.

As some of you may already know, we’re trying really hard to make this an actual prom like event. Because of this, we’re spending a lot of our out of pocket money trying to get sound and lighting people, as well as trying to find some kind of catering that is consistent and getting in touch with the venue to have real plans.

Sable spoke with some friends of hers who do sound and lighting, and they quoted her $550~$600 for the four hour period which is pretty damn amazing considering events anyone usually stages are upwards of $2000.

In order to accommodate for the added expenses, we’re thinking of possibly having a fee for tickets. Nothing extreme, just $5 a person for a ticket, and then you’d actually get a ticket of some kind that you can use to your entry! (Don’t worry if you forget it, we’ll have a big list of everyone)
Our other option is that we open up a bucket for donations and pool money to pay for the expenses that way. But if this is chosen as a collective, we actually need people who are going to donate, and it isn’t just going to be an out for those of you who don’t want to pay the $5. That’ll just put us back into the situation we’re in right now.

All of the money that we obtain through either means, will go towards the cost of lighting, the cost of a sound system, catering, a photographer for couples shots and more!

At this point with the funds we currently have, the event is sounding like it’s going to be something like a bunch of gray people eating chips and gushers in the dark at a park.
To prevent this from being the case, and actually having a nice event with a real sound system and a photographer and such, we realistically just need more time and money.

Because we’re trying to accomplish so much in such a small time, there is talk that we might want to move the event back to either later in march, or have it in early April. That way we have more time to plan things out and possibly close off an area of the park for the event, as well as more time to fund raise.

We wanted to bring this to everyones attention before we made any plans to decide what you guys thought would be the best option.

Here is the link for those of you who don’t have it.
